A rough guide only — visa settings change, and your own circumstances matter more than any table.

New Zealand

Main route: Accredited Employer Work Visa

Typical timeline: 3–5 months

Employer must: hold accreditation and pass a job check

Residence: pathways exist for many skilled roles

Australia

Main route: employer-sponsored skilled visas

Typical timeline: 3–6 months

Employer must: be an approved sponsor and nominate the role

Residence: available on several sponsored streams

Japan

Main route: Instructor visa (ALT programme)

Typical timeline: 4–6 months

Employer must: obtain a Certificate of Eligibility

Residence: long-term status after repeated renewals
